Hello from MooShoes.

Mary Clifton, M.D., co-author of the brand new title Waist Away—How to Joyfully Loose Weight and Supercharge Your Life will be at MooShoes to sign copies of her book on Thursday, December 27th from 5pm-7pm.

With the holidays coming to an end, many of us are venturing into the new year with a bevy of resolutions, with eating better and loosing weight likely on the top of many lists. Waist Away is the perfect book to get you started. The book features special sections on revving up your sex drive, staving off osteoporosis, conquering food addictions, and sailing through menopause. You’ll also get great advice and recipes from the biggest names in the nutrition world. If you’re ready to lose weight joyfully and live a life free of disease—in a delicious way that makes sense for yourself and the planet—this book is definitely for you.

A mother/daughter physician team will show you how in their book, which reflects their 15 years of medical experience and cutting-edge nutritional know-how. These two docs believe in the philosophy that good food is always your best medicine. You’ll read stories of their patients who lost weight and conquered chronic diseases by simply eating a delicious, plant-based diet.

Copies of the book will be available for purchase. Get your copy signed and your questions answered by the experts in-person.

Adoption Event at MooShoes Sunday

Adoption Event

Adopt Us!!!Hello from MooShoes.

Please join us on Sunday, December 9th from 12-4PM for an Adoption Day.

I (Erica) have been volunteering at Heavenly Angels. They’re filled to the brim and really need to find homes for all the critters that have been dumped on them (there are close 200) which means that this shelter is very overwhelmed.

I have gotten to know so many of these animals personally and am in love with so many of them. Their spirits remain high despite being stuck in a shelter. Let’s keep their hope alive by homing some of these amazing dogs and cats.

On Sunday, you will have the opportunity to meet:

Penelope—A 1-year-old Basset Hound mix, this shorty is a lover and is happiest in your lap. She gets along well with other dogs and all people (including children). How can you resist those eyes?
Visit Penelope’s Petfinder page for more information.

Scooter—Do you know how some dogs just call out to you? Well that was the story for me and Scooter. He seems a little shy initially, but warms up to his caregiver very quickly. He is a 2-year-old Schipperke mix. This breed is known for their devotion and loyalty. Although he has energy, he is still very well-suited for apartment life because he is great at keeping himself busy. He’s small enough that you can tote him around if you need to, but he is very content with just sitting in your lap and thinks rubdowns are the greatest! Visit Scooter’s Petfinder page for more details.

Luce—Ok, I’ll admit, I’m bias to Luce because he is a mini version of one of my dogs. He’s a little bundle of joy though and he loves everyone. But he’s looking for that special someone that’s going to love him back. He is young and energetic, so he’s best suited for someone that can be active with him (runners, I’m looking at you). He’s a 1-year-old Terrier mix. Take him home and we know that within a couple of days you will fall in love and wonder how you could have gone without him for so long. Find out more about Luce here.

We’ll also have some cats here available for adoption. You know we love cats. I mean, we have four of them in the store as it is. Most cats prefer having a companion or two, so you single-cat households—GET ON IT!

We so badly want to find these guys their forever homes that we are offering to pay half the adoption fee. We also have tons of recommendations for discounted vet care, pet sitting, and training.

We know that taking on a companion animal is a commitment, but it will be the best decision you ever make. And why stop at one…?

Help us make a dent in this homeless animal epidemic. If this is successful, we will continue to host even more critters looking for homes.
