You're in luck. "Non-leather bags are actually a growing trend," says Lisa Franzetta, campaign coordinator at PETA. Stella McCartney has famously refused to work with animal skins, and Kenneth Cole and Steve Madden also offer vegan bags.

Synthetic leathers, which are made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC), can be embossed with different patterns to make them look like the real thing.
